Rap is mostly hate music. Not all of it but they got filthy lyrics. I am of a older generation and could probably be your dad. This does not mean I have a closed mind to new music, Rock and roll seemed to deliver ways of conduct. Not it all, take AC/DC. Lyrics , some were trash. The guitar playing told the song. No one today can come close to Jimmy Page. He talked with his guitar. Like Angus Young. Excellent players,allot of emotion. I could go on and on but we pulled our pants up! Listing to rock and roll influence ya? Does rap and hip hop influence you? Listen to rock it has a hidden message! Rap is just foul language. Growing up with rock , it has affected most of us. Someone will not like my answer and block it! I will keep on answering it! I grew up with rock and take everything serious. Answer to question we are more serious! The songs hit home and made sense. i guess my generation is in touch with whats happening. The music now has no meaning. Grow up with rock, yes I cannot speak for everyone but I take things that go on really seriously

Well, people in my generation didn't grow up with rap. We are much more serious and grown up than 20 year olds who were exposed to rap at an earlier age. Personally, I love good old rock n' roll.

lol....seems like if you have to post a question like that, then there is your answer. No, just because you listen to a certain type of music doesn't mean that you are going to be more "grown up" than someone else. If you listen to classical music, does that make you a genius? Don't think so! Kind of a stereotype, don't ya think? BTW, I listen to just about everything!

stable one. some scientists declare that exposing an unborn infant to classical music, will advance his/her intelligence. perchance it has to do with rythm, stimulating some areas of the strategies that throughout the time of any different case doesn`t get inspired a lot? As to 3 styles of music - esp. relaxing music - i will understand why this does not improve intelligence. contained on the subject of relaxing music, this is the purpose to no longer reason human beings to think of, yet to loosen up or perhaps sleep. i think of there could be a correlation - so the question is valid as such. i do no longer understand if analyze has been accomplished to the two teach or disprove the belief. interesting theory!

people have got to start admiting that a lot of the mainstream rap hitting the radios are all about se.x, girls or how much money they have.
yes, there are other rap/hiphop artists who focus their lyrics on other things and i applaude them for that.. but what gets to me is the fact that the majority of these artists are so limited on their musical "subjects".
people who are listening to rock, whether it's mainstream or underground.. know that there's a lot mroe to sing about than those subjects.
so i'm going to have to agree, i suppose.

well lets just say that u listen to rap...ok yea not my choice in music but ok.......i dont think people who listen to rock are more grown up neccessarily....i just think that they have a bigger opinion on their music and how they like it.......people who listen to rap.........listen to just about all rap......& they don't have to choose between whats emo and whats worth a ****!!
i think people who listen to real rock and hardcore....have a more mature nature to them than those who like to watch rap videos full of have naked women and CARS.......i hope i answered the question!!!

that is not true me and all of my friends love rock but we also listen to rap we are totally not serious because we are kids and love playin pranks in fact everyone in my family and everyone i know isn't tht serious and loves rock!
