I was 13 when my baby bro was born, and I just love him to death. I got to play "mommy" whenever I wanted. he's my "baby" which, of course, he hates! He's 10 now.
Learn stuff....you'll use it 10 yrs down the road when you want a baby (when you're married). It's fun! Just have fun, and try to help your mom out some.

i think your new baby sis is very lucky and i think you are too.
she will have a big sis to look up to and go to for advice all her life if you two form a healthy bond and you will have the deep satisfaction of being looked up to and admired by a very impressionable little sister!
it could be lots of fun! care for her. take her on outings together and show her off! you will learn lots of good babysitting and future parenting skills too and be ahead of the game. sure, sometimes she might get in the way or you may feel shes cramping your new teenage style but in the end you will be glad the two of you have each other . sisterhood is a lifelong bond. it should be a good close one so work at this. i lost touch with the wonderful bond i had with my sis and i miss it so terribly now.

I think that is great. I have a friend who was 19 when her brother was born. You had a lot of alone time with your parents, not you have a little sister! That is wonderful, you are at the age now that you don't need the full attention of your parents and you are getting the best experiences. You are old enough to help your parents and really appretiate the needs of your little sister. You should be super happy!!

I think you are very lucky. You are going to have a little person that adores you and looks up to you and wants to be just like you! When the two of you are older I am sure you will be very good friends. I hope you work hard at being a good example and do your best to help your mom and take good care care of your little sister.

Congratulations!
I think that your mom will need your help, so please don't be moaning about this, be happy that your mom has a new little sister for you.
Considering the age gap is so big, I'm guessing your parents didn't expect this to happen, so they'll need your support. Next time baby starts crying, say these words...'mom, what can I do to help?'
Be willing to do whatever your parents ask of you.

I'm 11 and was kinda of mad because I was so used to it being the only child. But then I thought about it and said to myself that it might be cool to be the older one. They look up to you since your so far apart. So I'm looking forward to having two little brothers. Yes, my mom is having twins! So just enjoy it before it's to late. I can't even wait till they arrive. I bet you couldn't either. Just help your mom change those stinky diapers. Good luck!

my 6mo hasa 15yo brother. He not only gets to be the brother but a roll model as well. If you are a girl you get to take her shopping or to do your nails and all that fun girl stuff.
If you are a boy then you are a big brother. Help guide her and protect her from all the wolves out ther.
Enjoy her!

Thats cool. My sister is 7 yrs older than me, and she spoiled me rotten. She's been like my other mom. Use the opportunity to kinda be like a grand parent. As you get older, have her over to spend the night and do stuff with her. You get the option of having her when you want, and giving her back when you want, its great. Prepare to spoil her rotten, she'll love it, and you'll have a great relationship!
