The Brewers-White Sox game that has been previously mentioned was the longest game by time. It took over 8 hours. However, the longest game by innings took place in 1920 between the Braves and Dodgers. It went 26 innings before being stopped due to darkness. The game ended in a 1-1 tie. The amazing thing is, no relief pitchers were used by either team!
