Good luck in finding one.

As long as Jeep makes an SUV that is comfortable, semi-stylish, and always marketing their Freedom Drive II off road system, then I will always be a customer, despite my carbon footprint, or the price of gasoline.

Toyota Prius has been proven to be the most dangerous for the Environment even compared to the Hummer due to the manufacturing process with their batteries.

A 2 Wheel Drive Environmentally friend car will not handle in some parts of West Virginia, nor can I efficiently go camping, or perform other outdoor recreational hobbies with such a small car.

And, kiddies, do you know what created the huge SUV market?

CAFE standards, which eliminated big rear-wheel drive cars, which could fit 6 people AND still tow a boat. So, in order to have the same carrying capacity as their 20 mpg LTD station wagon, people were forced to get a 12 mpg SUV.

Good going, envirowankers! Your "solution" created a worse problem. See what addle-pated tyrannical dictates from the government get you?

So, after the Dems pass some idiotic new CAFE standard, when a family of 6 or 7 wants to go somewhere, is taking 2 cars that get 35mpg saving more gas than taking only one vehicle that gets 24mpg?

So people that have large families or trailers will move up to even bigger trucks / buses, won't they?

Not for long the Dems passed legislation requiring the production of ALL new vehicles to have at least 35 miles per gallon. I would say in the next 5 to 10 years the dreaded SUV will be a dinosaur.

As long as there is a market for them. It's one of the things that makes us great. Of course if the left had their way there would be no more free choice in the market place. No talk radio, cigars, SUVs, wealth, personal defense weapons (that means guns), fast food, meat, borders or good music. Just tofu, veggies, and hemp, enjoyed under the leadership of President Chavez, inspired by the ghosts of Che and Lenin.

US comapnies never learn and never care about anything beyong quarterly earnings.

This is why I don't buy American made cars. Their $50 million CEOs provide no, long term, leadership. Foreign markets stay years ahead of US auto manufacturers and are always planning thirty years ahead for their next production models.

What does it matter? When the price of gas forces us out of the SUVs they will become the car of the poor people and the remainder will go to Mexico, Cuba and Venezuela where gas is cheap.

As long as we keep buying them. The SUV will never go away, too many Americans like them and drive them, what you will see happen in the very near future, is better gas mileage, perhaps more hybrid SUV's.

As long as the public wants to buy them. This is not a communist country despite the will of the liberals. If gas prices get to high, they will then switch to another form of energy to power them. It is all based on the most feasible energy source.

As long as they keep selling!

Japan, Germany, Sweeden don't sell SUV's?

Please stop hating America when the rest of the world is just as bad or worse.

I would guess for as long as people with money to burn keep on buying them.

Many foreign car makers make SUV's now too. Porsche even makes one!!
