With only 316 men were rescued out of the crew of 1,199 the sinking of the USS Indianapolis during the last days of World War 2 was one of the worst loss of life for one US ship during the war. (By comparison, the USS Arizona lost more than 1100 men during the Pearl Harbor attack on December 7, 1941.) Most of the Indianapolis crew were left in the water for 3 days as the United States Navy lost track of the ship. During those 3 days the crew endured numerous shark attacks by packs of sharks making it the worst shark attack in recorded history. Though the exact number of those lost due to the various means; shark attack, injuries incurred during the Japanese attack, exposure, murder (fighting among the survivors) or suicide will never be known.

As the previous guy said, probably the massive shark attack on victims of the Indianapolis sinking. But I hope they also cover the 1916 New Jersey Shore attacks!

When the USS Indianapolis sunk in the Pacific Ocean during WW2 and a lot of soldiers were floating in the water waiting to be rescued. They got attacked by sharks and many of them died.
