For heaven's sake don't taste it! Benzene is HIGHLY toxic. A colleague once commented that benzene smells like Scotch tastes. I've never had Scotch, so I can't really comment on the veracity of that claim.

It's an aromatic (sweet smelling).
But it will burn the mouth and tongue when tasted if you're daft enough to try it. (Have you ever tasted gasoline when starting a syphoning job).

benzyne tastes like fruit2O, only a slight flavor. i use it in my cereal instead of milk
