Not all of us are so superficial. I don't think I'm idiotic...it's a stupid stereotype. Maybe you're the superficial one, caring about these non-important issues. Fashion and music is part of culture. Music makes you smarter, too. Besides, it's not only teenage girls who wear flip-flops. Plenty of adults and even men wear them, too! Learn how to spell shoes, too!

Well, sad to admit it.. but, you forgot "cute guys" as Priority #1.
But... YES... I do find most teen-girls (on here, especially) can be idiotic about the way they post & ask questions about what Boy did what, should be looking at them, said something, etc. etc. etc. -- and it's VERY VERY SAD that in 2007 (after 30, 40, 100 years of women fighting, demanding the Right to Vote, the rights of equality.. etc., teen girls today still fall victim of meaningless fashion, music, young men snaking them -- and don't have too impressive a focus on what they can make their lives).
Maybe Disney, MTV, parents that allow them to be immersed into cable, online chat rooms, myspace websites, etc. etc. -- emphasizes "what they like" or "what's hot" as equaling WHO THEY ARE? Meanwhile, any 14-yr old from suburbs ranging from Portland, Maine to Portland, Oregon... doesn't realize they are exactly alike.. separated by dopey things like "Bratz or Barbie?" or flip-flops or Crocs?
When if they read, if they studied, if they achieved through college and beyond -- they'd have everything at their feet. From affluence, to their choice of men, family circles, influence and standing in any community AND their choice of awesome footwear, as adults.

They are no more idiotic than adults who worry about keeping up with the Jones's, or what their golf score is. You're only a kid for a short while - I say let 'em enjoy it while they can. I teach my children that they'll be grown-up much much longer than they'll be children so enjoy their childhood as long as they can!!!
But maybe I'm superficial because I don't live and breath the stock market, foreign news, what NFL, NHL, NBA etc... player has been put into rehab, been arrested, traded or blown a knee or what my golf score is...................

I agree with her as a teenager who has better things to think about than all that you listed I think this question is pretty lame... and don't get mad at us because your feet are too crusty to wear flip flops :]
By the way it's spelled "Shoes"

First of all learn how to spell shoes. Second, they are young so let them be, they will grow up eventually, just like the rest of us.
There is nothing wrong with Flip Flops.

Get over it. There will always been teenagers wondering around doing what they want and not caring about the older folks.
BIG DEAL. Thats life. Flip flops are also a part of life.
Get over it.

Ah, something I agree with you on!! The girls are gonna look back on their lives they lived and will think, "Uh, I was so shallow!!"
Now go back and tell Georgie that 70 percent of the country thinks this war is a bad idea and he should start troop withdrawal!!

Not all teenage girls care about those things, that's just the stereotype we have (unfortunately).
PS: I'm 13 and I think pop music sucks! No offense to all you pop-music lovers out there, it's just what I think.
