I hate that such laws ever existed! The sharia law is common in many parts of northern Nigeria and I know this because I grew up in the southeast. For example, I think it is wrong to cut off someones hands just because they steal from someone else..... I understand that action is intended to teach the criminal a lesson, but by doing that the criminal will be scarred for life!!! The same goes for stoning women to death, just because she had a baby out of wedlock or committed adultery. Why dont they stone the man? How come when it is a man who commits adultery, they hardly say or do anything. You can gather from this that the sharia law is also a form of sexism againt these muslim women.

Sharia law takes away freedom and I would not impose it upon even my worst enemy. Thank goodness it is not used where I live:)

I think it's terrible. I am not a religious person, and therefore do not want my life ruled by one. I consider myself a moral person. No it is not, and will never be applicable where I live.

I find it a huge threat, and something that will be imposed unless we as a nation stand up and say enough bickering and rid the world of those extreamist who want to impose it.
