why does this ordered pair NOT represent a function? plzz explain thanks!

(3,-2) (3, -4) (4, -1) (4, -3)

OK, think that the first numbers in the parentheses are people, and the second numbers are locations [ (x,y) x is a person, and y is a location]. Can the same person be in two different locations at the same time? Of course no!! So, if you see (3.-2), you can't have (3,-4)!!! The person named "3" can't be at the locations "-2" and "-4" at the same time.

Because there are two different values for x = 3 (-2 and -4).
To be a function, there must be one unique value of y for each value of x.
