a HUGE embassy is being built that is more expansive than Vatican City and there are military bases being built all over Iraq so the USA will be occupying Iraq forever ... or as long as the oil reserves last. Big Oil recently got the rights to 80% of Iraq's oil profits.

We will be in Iraq for several years, but we will only be fighting for a couple more at the most....the public is too strongly against this war for it to continue that long. Either the Republicans will have to cooperate and find a way to end the combat in Iraq or they will lose the election in 08 and we will change course anyways.

We're still in Germany, we're still in South Korea. Using those two examples the possibilities for Iraq definitely include our being there at least 10 years.

The goal is to get Iraq stabalized to maintain themselves against efforts from Iran, and Al-Q. The long term goal would be to have the rogue government in Iran to give up the Nukes, and to quit threatening the destruction of Israel. So nothing to do with Western values, or Oil.
