Iv been looking at doing voluntary work with animals an really find any good placements. Iv looked at places around where i live (Sheffield area) and not found much choice. Iv also looked at going to work abroad like in South Africa for two weeks and i was shocked to see how much these trips cost. Does anyone know of anywhere near Sheffield that would take on a volunteer or of a site that;s got cheap voluntary work abroad?

Most places abroad will require some past expereince so I would focus on getting a good local base first.

However, I do not know your age but there are MANY abroad programs that you do have to pay to do, but it counts towards college and some work credit.

Earthwatch is one such group and they have programs all over the world: http://www.earthwatch.org/site/pp.asp?c=8nJELMNkGiF&b=1322375

If you want to start local.....
Where you will want to look:
1: Zoos
2: State Parks
3: Animal Shelters
4: Rescue Centers (both domestic and exotic)
5: Vet Clinics
