Like, actually commiting suicide? I'm starting to think it's worth it. The forum I speak of, of course, is www.sciforums.com. It would certainly raise awareness of this problem.

Yes, (Q) is involved.

Whoah, this is a big mess... I told my mom about what I said here, and then, she told me that I can't go to sciforums again until I'm 18. So, I decided to privately tell a moderator not to be worried by my absence, when I realized that people were getting the wrong message! Sure, I'm upset over the 'Rokkon explained' thread, but that's not the main reason for which I posted this question! I posted this question here prior to seeing the what upset me, and I was originally trying to refer to (Q)'s repeated attacks against religion! The reason I posted the link here first on the thread that didn't include (Q)'s attacks was because I wanted to lay low for a while! I thought that the 'Rokkon explained' thread wouldn't be viewed as much as the other one. But then, I decided that everyone should know what (Q) was doing, and so I referred to the link in the other thread! Yes, I'm upset over what Spidergoat and James R said in the thread, but that's not the biggest problem!

As said before, I'm still bothered by the 'Rokkon Explained' thread, but not nearly as much as I am bothered by (Q). It's like a 4:7 ratio, meaning that (Q) is almost twice as guilty for this question!

It seem to me that you would be giving your life for nothing.
The public does not seem inclined to believe the message the person intended. If reported on the mass media, it will be a 10 to 15 second news for a day. People will not even know what the message was.
You can achieve more by living your life and using it in other ways.

Can you imagine if all the worlds problems were fixed by people committing suicide? There would never be a population crisis and those that win the argument would always be the ones that didn't commit suicide since they are the ones left holding the preverbial torch.

What I'm trying to say is that suicide is not an answer, it's not something to win an argument with because you default on the future direction of that argument.

Some will find your statement of suicide as being either immature or infirm and attention seeking. They of course won't be stating these things to belittle you or make you feel worse but because they want you to understand the truth about your thoughts and feelings and how they come across to them.

The only way to ever change the future is to be apart of that change. Bumping yourself off obviously removes you from being apart of it so the direction of the future could be altered and you would never even realise it. So simply don't kill yourself, if sciforums gets too much leave it alone and find somewhere else to hang, otherwise toughen up, use the ignore function and don't get baited into acting a jerk. (which you definitely would be if you commit suicide)

NO. Some things are worth dying for, but a few flamers and trolls on an internet forum isn't even close. If the mod and/or forum owner is not aware of the problem tell them. If nothing changes and you don't like the company, leave. Make a public post about WHY you're leaving, if you choose, but don't stick around to be harassed. There's other places out there, where you'll have fun and won't have to put up with them.

And if you're the mod, and therefore responsible for the whole mess - kick their butts off the forum and ban their IP.

Rokkon, you don't get mad you get even.

Please check out my site :

www.sciforums.blogspot.com. It is a news blog that reports the goings on at the forum you mention.

You are in the news there, if you object I will remove the posts, but that site raises awareness of the problems on that forum. If you want to vent, you can vent there. It gets read by a lot of sciforum members.

On a personal note, suicide is not going to improve the quality of your life. You will be oblivious of any or no change as a result of your actions. If you are experiencing depression, please talk about it with a professional and perhaps stay off the internet for a while.

The only way that I could see suicide being acceptable is if by taking your own life you'd be saving others. ie. Pushing someone out of the path of a train. Or if your body had been infected with a supermega virus that would kill everyone on earth and the only way to stop it would be to burn your own body or something..... But yeah, if it's just one of those teenage drama thingies then it's not worth it. Whatever happens it really wasn't that bad, etc.

It would not be a good idea, for many reasons.

1. It would be disproportionate: You loss of life would be much more serious than the issues involved.
2. It could easily be ineffective: If you are dead, you will no longer be able to protest, so your act may be very soon forgotten.
3. It would cause great hurt to those who love you.

It would not be a good idea to kill yourself for any reason. If you do it for a specific reason, no one would listen or care. No one wants to bother with other people's problems. As such, suicide is no longer an alarming thing to most people, it's just as commonplace as a convenice store robbery on the 6 o'clock news. No one listens to anyone anymore.
