Arguably, pizza-like foods have been around for a long time: nan bread, tortillas, and even the French crepe (I said it was arguable!).

For my money, mom-and-pop pizzerias are far superior to the bland, commercial ones! (why do you think the latter keep coming up with bizarre, new ideas, like cheese-in-the-crust or spinach alfredo?)

i did some project on it so maybe i can remember. it was invented by the ancient aztects or myans or some old civilization. it started out as some dough rolled into a flat piece of bread seasoned. then the italians got the idea and started adding toppings and stuff. after that they immigrated to ny /
