Barry's steroid use was "legal" when he and other players "used". MLB banned and made those substances illegal two years after they used the drugs. That means that his HR's definitely will count towards the total career amount he hit.
I've met Barry countless times at my ex employer and he's definitely a nice guy. No snobbish attitudes, no hate towards anyone, always smiling and willing to shake hands with the "common man". Everyone here thinks they know the real Barry, but they're all wrong.
I don't care if he took the drugs legally. If they were banned, of course, penalize him to the fullest. He knew what he was taking and what it could do to your body. Only time knows what would happen by steroid use.

Bad attitude yes, but he is also one of the greatest players to ever play the game. He admitted in a grand jury hearing that he applied a cream that he did not know was a steroid, this occurred in 1999 and the drug policy went into effect in MLB in 2001. Since drug testing was implemented he never tested positive for any banned substance. Given that information, how can you take that quantum leap and make a unilateral decision that any of his accomplishments should not count?

I don't care about the steroids to tell you the truth. But Barry does have a bad attitude and is the biggest horse's *** in baseball. If only Griffey had not had all those injured seasons, he would be ahead of Barry. He's a much more likable individual and a more worthy home run king. Here's hoping that A-Rod tops Barry in about five years!

I think he's a pioneer to the game and is one of the greatest players in baseball. His god-given ability with the home runs he has acquired will be counted in MLB stats.

No. The only teammate who ever complained about his attitude was Kent. Most teammates describe Bonds as a non-attitude, he doesn't engage he teammates much, just goes about his own business. He works hard, is ready to play. There is nothing wrong with his attitude, unless you believe a player has an obligation to entertain the press.

I think he's got a bad attitude, but he's still an amazing player. I'm not looking for him to be a role model for my children, but he's a HOFer and one of the best to ever play the game.

Personally I think all athletes have chips on their shoulders. I agree with you on that. Illegal drugs, drinking and bad attitudes wow - is that what we want our kids to learn from all sports not just baseball, No we don't. I think they are overpaid, but, we pay the prices to go see them play and hopefully WIN and bring the big TROPHY home. Disgusting....
