With Democrats who also are financially invested with oil companies and military contracting companies.

"You know the President is really swindling support for an invasion into Iraq. It's going to happen. We should vote for it and then when it comes to light that many of the President's justifications were wrong we can claim we were lied to ....all while still settng the stage for reaping our financial gains in the future AND we can go back to our constituents and appease them for political gain."

"It's a win win situation!"

When will everyone realize that this isn't Dem vs Rep at all anymore?
It's economic globalists vs everybody else!

The real question is ...What are we going to do about this?

I am tired of CEO's and investors making government policy decisions!

First, it is the republicans who have gained most from the war. I say gained when so many people have died, not just Iraqi's but also troops from all the forces stationed there.

Second, the war was about oil. The supplies of oil in Iraq needed to be secured for the health of the world. Of course, since the invasion, it has been companies that have donated to the Republican party that have made the most money. (Halliburton anyone?) But it was not just to grap the oil for finanical gain. Saudi Arabia is becoming increasingly unstable. If a revolution occurs there, the west will suffer as oil supplies dry up.

The war was also about weapons of mass destruction. The US, the UK and other countries in the west knew what Saddam had as we in the west sold him the materials he needed to make chemical weapons (weapons which he used without a word from us in the west).

The reason the peace in Iraq has failed, was that too few troops were used in the begining. Also, we should not have invaded until we had proved that we supported democracy and by proved it, made sure that Afghanistan and Pakistan became stable democracies. If we had done that, things would have been better in Iraq.

So, no, that was not a typical conversation that occured before the war.

No, it was not like that at all. Everyone supported the war, until there were no WMDs. It was never about oil.
