Bermuda offers an array of exquisite beaches of pink sand and turquoise water. Why are the beaches pink? The sand contains pink flecks that are the remains of a tiny organism known as the red foam. This combined with tiny particles of broken shells and bits of coral create the pink hue of Bermuda’s beautiful beaches.
South Shore features the most beaches and the most photographed, with Warwick Park, Warwick Long Bay, Horseshoe Bay comprising 1 ½ mile-long costal park. There are dozens of coves and bays along the way offering protected swimming and snorkeling, and trails to explore adding to the ambiance. The mile-long Elbow Beach and John Smith’s Bay are favorites of locals and visitors alike. There are numerous small beaches, such as Parson’s Bay, Black Bay and Mangrove Bay throughout the parish of Sandy’s. Pembroke Parish features Clarence Cove, two smaller beaches at Admiralty House Park and Deep Bay, which is not easily accessible and known mainly to the locals. But no matter which you choose, Bermuda’s beaches are pink, private and pristine and guaranteed to provide a satisfactory experience.

Lifeguards are stationed on some of the beaches from during the summer; however, many are not and be aware of the undercurrents and always swim with someone. There are some water activities with fabulous snorkeling and diving offered on the reefs off South Shore at the larger beaches, as well as food concessions. You can also bring your own picnic lunch or dinner to enjoy on the beach with that special person or a group of friends.
But I like Tobacco Bay, and Beach It and the surrounding Beaches in St Georges. Close to where I live and bar service:)

For snorkel go to Tobacco Bay near the town of St George. It has flat water with no waves and rocks to attract sea life. The prettiest and nicest in my opinion is Elbow beach and Long Bay. You can get to both of them on the bus.
