My mum says I have to wait until I am SIXTEEN

So here's the plan

We have a 4 week "foreign exchange" program at school - so I'll be staying with a French family for 4 weeks.

My 29 year old sister will be driving me to the pick-up point. We set off early, and she takes me to the jewellers and signs as 'parent' on the way.

The next time I see my mum will be 4 weeks later, although I will phone her every week.

Even if she makes me take out the earrings, no big deal, I'll have been wearing them for a month and they'll be almost healed. I'll keep the holes open by putting my earrings in on my way to school every day.

So, Is this a sensible plan, or would I be altogether out of line?

If you were my mum, would you altogether kill me?

Don't go behind her back, your lose your mums trust. And as you get a little older, and ask if you can do things or go places the trust wont be there. Ask if you can buy clip on ear rings instead, before i got my ears pierced i had a cutie pair of clip on large silver hoops (and no one knew, they were clip on's). Would i "KILL YOU" no but i would be very upset.

I would be pretty mad ! But by doing that , the next tiem you really want something bad ! She will NEVER let you do it! EVER! And so I would instead advise you to plead to your mother and m,ake a deal. SOmething like I will do ( a certain chore or somthing you really really hate ) everday for 3 months. or hwoever long she will give in for. If your sister got themat the same age as you will ( 16)then ask your mom ,that you want to be an individual and not follow your sister. But if she got them earlier ask her hwo coemshe does adn i dotn! adn just dont do the thing where you ask your sister to be the parent and everything. But I cant tell you what to do! Its your choice. Think abotu everythign i said. Willyoru mom ever trust you agian?Im sorry very dearly if I didnt help because Im 12 trning 13 in december but I haev my ears pierced. In my culture we get our ears pierced when we are only about 5-7 months old and at the latest is 10 months old babies. So im sorry if i dditn help! But if your motehr just says no , dont secretly do that behind her back. Get some earings where you jsut press them on or magnetic ones. Those are great! Bye ! Hoep I helped!

Im the same age. My parents are just as bad, just with different things. I couldn't paint my nails until I was 13, because it wasn't appropriate for my age group. Bull.

Your plan is good, but your mom would never trust you. Instead, try to reason with her. Give her reasons why you want them pierced. If that doesn't work, make a deal. Like if you get an B or A average on your next report card, then you get your ears pierced. And, if that doesn't work, do extra chorses around the house and help out as much as possible. Hopefully your mom will come around.

Well, as a mom I should say that I don't understand your mom! Girls in my family get ears pierce since 6months of age! of course is always not good doing something like that at yours mom's back. But if you do, just make sure that a professional do the piercing and tell you how to keep it clean and disinfects.
Of course don't expect your mom to be soft on you, she will probably scream and punish you in some way, but as you say, there's not much she can do after that.

Hey! I like the idea of promise her not to pierce any other part. As I mom I can't care less if a daughter get ears pierce, but will kill her if pierce nose, tongue or something else.

Good Luck!

Do you want to lose your mother's trust over piercing your ears?

Just wait or keep trying to convince, she's bound to give in. Make a deal with her. Maybe doing laundry for 6 months straight or something.

Nope .. don't EVER do stuff behind your mums back .. because the holes in your ear will be visable to her and you have to wear your earrings in for ages & ages before your allowed to take them . its not a big deal but your mum might not be able to trust you again .. y cant you wear fake earrings .. i have to wait till october to get the third and fourth holes in my ear :|

Although your mother probably has your best interest at heart as long as you go to a certified jewerler it's fine. Just make sure that the equiptment is clean so you don't get an infection

I don't think that it is a good idea. If your mother realizes it, than she will be very angry. I would recommend you to forget your plan because you have to live with your mother a long time and if you bother her, your family-life will be terrible. And anytime you will remove them.
