He is in the position he is in, and he is the person he is, because he obviously doesn't know when enough is enough.

Bush and Cheney covet all the world's OIL. They have no interest in the development of more fuel-efficient vehicles or alternative fuels because it means less profitability for their buddies in the OIL business.
We are in Iraq - and have been, from Day One - for three really lame reasons:
1. The Bush family wanted to satisfy its personal vendetta against Saddam Hussein;
2. Cheney wants all that OIL swimming underneath Iraq's sands;
3. Ever since World War II, the giant U.S. military-industrial complex recognized how profitable war could be (Dwight Eisenhower warned about it). So, all the politicians were bought up, price lobbyists were hired, and special interest groups were formed to promote and encourage more war. Thus, we were involved in the Korean Conflict; the Cuban Missile Crisis; the Cold War; Vietnam and Desert Storm, all so McDonnell-Douglass, Lockheed-Martin, Sikorsky, United Technologies and a host of other corporations could feed from the Pentagon's war trough. A new war was necessary to enhance those corporate profits - and to bring two 'newcomers' to the cache of government cash: the Carlyle Group and Halliburton both have made billions off this insane 'war'. and both have direct ties to the Bush-Cheney White House.
Next Stop on the Bush greedy grab for more OIL: Iran.
Let's not forget: this 'war' was never about bringing peace to the Middle East; it was never about defending our country from another sovereign nation that in now way threatened, provoked or attacked the United States; and it was never about establishing democracy in Iraq. It's always been about OIL and WAR PROFITEERING. -RKO- 07/17/07

You've been brainwashed by TV. The Iraq War isn't about "blood for oil." I the US wanted oil through violence, we would kick the beejeebers out of Venezuela and take theirs.
I don't agree with the politics behind the war, and don't have enough room to get into an explanation here, but it's not about oil.

This is a false paradigm

You are falsely implying that (1) Bush is attacking countries, (2) that the attacks are to facilitate the acquisition of natural resources, and (3) that there exists a quota of said recources to fulfill

Pretty good trollling there! Not a word of it true, but nice job!

Not this question again. . .
Why don't you ask a soldier who came back from Iraq what they are doing there? I did, he is a personal friend of mine. He was happy for what they were doing to help the people there.
Never mind that Sadam was killing tons of people by torcher and shooting practice. That's all fine because they were any of your family. This is more than over oil or terrorism. It's about getting rid of the dictatorship.
Have things gone as planned? No. I believe that if things don't straighten out by the beginning of 2008, we pull out. The reason there are so many car bombing is because of two things: Rival Muslim clans and the "Allah-forsaken" Americans on their turf.

It's not just about the oil rights. It's also about the oil being traded in US dollars.

Kevin, you should really expand the sources you use to get your news. Do you have any clue what would happen if countries stopped trading oil in US dollars?
Especially now that Bush has doubled our National Debt.

If he attacked Iraq for oil, he sure did a lousy job. Our gas prices have skyrocketed since the war started.

*Ahem* well you see. Dubya wants to show up his daddy. I'm sure of this because I am just one of those people who are sure of things... So if he gets more oil, then he solves a "problem". Although if we just found other means and such then he wouldn't need to be a moron. O well. at least we aren't the ones being attacked, right?
