ok so my husband wrote a check to the landlord for the rent owed. and they went to his bank and tried to cash it . and it didnt go through. so she came beating on my door and told me how irresponsible i was and that i needed to work on my exspenses . and i told her i didnt know what the heck was going on , and she shushed me , and she was acting wild and outa control and im a nice person, too nice so i said ok well im sorry and ill see whats going on and ill call my husband. and i assured her he had the money.well i called him at work and he said something like a deposit slip he put in the day before was bad. well i wasnt sure about that. but anyway it is in the bank now becaus he went to the bank and got it straightened out. and she told me that she was going to bring the check to the county , even after i told her she would get her money the same day.so it was the first time it has ever happened and our lease is almost up in one month. is this lady just makin a scene ?

because i would have been ok , well this check is bad um , ya need to pay up. and it was just a misunderstanding. i forgive and forget.

bring the check to the county? for what? She sounds crazy, don't worry about it. She'll get her money and she'll shut up.

Let me start with this, Sounds like to me that your landlord either has a Crack Habit" (b/c she ran to the bank to cash your check) or she wants to kick your family out. Since I really do not know I have to assume the last one. Some if not most people will write a check for rent knowing the funds are not there but will be later that day or the next day. Sounds like she put the check in before the deposit cleared.
Ok, Depending on how your lease is worded, if you check bounces for payment of rent, you have broken the terms of the lease. Which gives your landlord grounds for kicking you out. Now most landlords do not do this. If they do it just b/c they want their tenent out. Since you said your lease is up in a month it sounds like your landlord is trying to find a reason not to renew it. If I were you and your husband, Start looking for another place just in case. hope this was helpful

Sounds like yes, she's pretty much just making a scene. Technically if a check bounces it's a legal offense, but since she got her money the same day and you never bounced one to her before, she'd look pretty silly if she pushed it.

I'm glad that Christianity and Hell are real, so that people like that can have a rude awakening when they die. These are people that don't have too much going for them socially in their lives. They may have more money and own property (landlords) but really live a sad, pathetic, existance. They even become jealous of those with lower income but who have families and friends. By being rude like they were to you, that was their little act of revenge on the envy.
