When is it the best time to apply insect repelate to grass and shrubs. Should I cut the grass first. water it, or not to water it

Do it after you mow, when you have the least amount of sun on your yard or right before dark. That way when you water it down it doesn't burn your grass. I use ground cayenne pepper cause it kills even grubs, ants and fleas and all those other undesirable creepy crawlies.

Read the back of the bottle. It will vary from one insect killer to another. For some you're supposed to water it afterwards so that it doesn't burn the grass. My neighbor had his grass burnt by the company that treats his lawn. I told him to water the grass down and it should come out of it. He did and the grass came back and looked good. When he called the company they told him they had put insect killer down and that people are supposed to water the lawn for like a half hours or so for 3 days after the stuff has been applied.
