Probably the simplest thing to do is to get a wireless router. I've heard good things about the Apple "Airport." but there are lots of other kinds. You hook the DSL up to the router, and then the router juggles the computers' internet connections so they can both be online at once. If it's wireless, then you can sit with your notebook anywhere in the house and get a connection without having to trail cords all over the place.

Edited to add ..oh yeah, you need to have a wireless card in your laptop. If it's new though, odds are good it came with one, so check to see if you have one before you buy one.

Either you can hook up the cord right to the port in your notebook, or you can buy a wireless card (you need a router, too). I bought a Belkin wireless card and router from Wal-mart a few months ago for my laptop. I think it was about $100 dollars or less, unless you want a long range router.

you either need to connect it to your phone jack, or get a wireless modem.
