Mine was similar to yours. My perception was a fairytale. You lived happily ever after, and there was one person out there for me.
I don't believe there is "one" person. I think you can love more than one person in your lifetime.
And I know it is not a fairytale. It is A LOT of work. And heartache and joy and frustration, etc..
It took me longer than I wish it would of have, but it took me awhile to figure it out. Who knows in ten more years I may feel differently about it all.

When I was a child, I loved my parents and I loved my family members. Some of them I didn't like much but my parents always told me you have to love family...Love the sinner hate the sin that kind of deal. Love=treating someone kindly, caring for someone, doing nice things for someone.
Now It's changed for me...because I have fallen in love several times...I now say that love means respecting someone and not forcing them to do anything they don't want to do, when you're in love you should feel safe and secure and be able to be your true self with that person without having to worry about them putting you down for being different. There are different kinds of love. 1.) Love for family members, 2.) Love for friends, 3.) Love for someone you want to marry some day and spend the rest of your life with. This is only part of my current definition but you get the idea.

I'm pretty much the same as you. I realized that it is not like it is in the movies... Love is something you have to work at... it doesn't just happen and isn't a fairy tale.

Yes, mine has greatly. My perception of love has changed in the last few years because I had a child. I think as you grow older it will continue to change due to life experience.

I know now that most who profess it know nothing about it. They only have an agenda.
