How this war is a failure. So....how is it you think the World's Best Millitary and the greatest troops ever are failures? Our media and Harry Reid think so. Our politicians are having a pajama party tonight because they think so. Here is some common sense before you answer...

War=Death
War=Destruction
War=Occupation (temporary and long term)
War=Civilian casualties.

Purhaps this war didn't have the proper PR work done for it is the only failure I see, what say ye?

Le Big Mac- When you sign up and volunteer for the military, it is a given that you may lose your life. Longest War, fewest casualties ever. Consider our Civil War...millions and millions of Americans died to other Americans. Again War=Death.

I've never said that. We've done everything the administration has said needed to be done - Saddam out of power, Iraqi government established, yet we're still there. Why? The thing I object to is that when the military finishes what was assigned to them, another line gets drawn for them to cross. The administration didn't have a clear, definable strategy to win the war and occupy afterward. I never have a problem with Soldiers - I was one for a long time. I have a problem with the politicians that start the wars.

I don't see how this is a military or troop failure. We shouldn't be there. That is an administration failure and that of the Generals, not the troops. The military does what its commander(Bush) tells it)

War is Peace (as GW tells us, we go to war there and have peace here) Can you explain Timothy McVeigh and his kind then?

Al Queda, by the govt's admission is just as strong today as it was before 9-11......this after 3500 troops have died and 500 billion dollars has been spent fighting Al Queda....that makes this a spectacular failure.

An even bigger question is exactly who is our enemy and who are we fighting. Are we creating the best enemies we can buy? This war makes no sense at all unless you are a big multinational corporation making billions off of it or Dub-ya who wants to control the oil and have forward fully manned bases to project power in the area.

Let's not call it a failure yet. But would not a reasonable person be concerned when our casualties increase every year instead of decrease?

A War is lost when one side no longer has the capability or the will to continue fighting.

While the US Military has a great deal of capability at it's disposal, the American public is rapidly losing the will to fight. Thus, the war is failing.
