our boss just bought us all Rootbeer floats...he never does nice stuff like that...are we all going to be fired??

He's probably having an affair- No just kidding. I had a boss like that once-when everything was going fine he was very generous and then if he was having a Bad Day The entire office knew about it.

Maybe he is trying to be nice to you or he is paying you off in root beer floats instead of a well-deserved pay raise because he made some major financiall boon.

Maybe something happened, and he realized that everything in life could be a lot worse (including his employees). So he decided to do something nice for you guys, and root beer floats was all he could muster up ... lol .
