I'm not homophobic, but shouldn't little kids be allowed to not have to think about sex for at least 9/10 years?

You know it is not just cartoons but many TV series have openly gay characters too. The plan is to teach the world that people are people regardless of sexual preference. I agree kids should not be exposed to sexual diversity before they can learn sexual normalities. But we are in a society here in the USA at least that wants to make everything right for everyone and every group. It's a hopeless idea but that is what is behind it and I don't think it can be stopped. I read once about a woman arrested because she had a feather from a protected species of bird in her artwork. She didn't do anything to any bird but found the feather and used it. She was still arrested for having it. We can't stop this stuff with national mentality of this sort. Gay people have every right to be so and do as they wish, I believe that. Young children have the right to be innocent for as long as possible too.

Why is sex the first thing you think about when someone says Homosexual ?
I am not gay, and I even think that is offensive.

Sex ed started in 4th grade for me,I already knew everything. Kids are going to find out about sex on their own ANYWAY.
So no, I am not disturbed.

k, first of all, name one cartoon aimed at kids which portrays an openly gay character..... The only characters that are perceived as gay are the ones that people like you label them as such. Those characters themselves have never admitted to being gay.

and secondly, shouldn't we be more concerned with all the violence and killing that ACTUALLY IS present in children's cartoons and video games?? How many school shootings have we had?? People don't seem to give a sh!t when it comes to violence on TV but they get they're panties in a twist over a character who may or may not be "too femmy"

I didn't even know that there were cartoons with homosexual main characters... most cartoons I've seen don't refer to what orientation the character is.

No. There watching a cartoon no thinking about sex. There watching someone possibly different from them OR( maybe in the future) someone the same as them. I think it is good they are exposed to differences. It is not sexual.

i'm wondering how you know they're homosexual...did you have sex w/them?? do they talk soft? so do alot of kids. do they carry purses? so do alot of kids, both genders. i don't think kids focus on all that near as much as the adults who are in charge of them. if you don't make a big deal out of it they probably won't even make that connection you're making. not that there is a connection.

I think it's much more disturbing that people actually think Spongebob and Tinky Winky are supposed to be gay
