Bush's War on Terror is the worst, but it is a close race to failure in both cases.

The "War on Terror" -- which is just Bush's name for America's continued military presence in the middle east -- is the excuse that Islamic fundamentalists use to justify their killing Americans, whether they are soldiers in Iraq or workers on September 11th.
Nothing would shake Al Qaeda more than an immediate and total withdrawal of American forces from the region.
The "War on Drugs", on the other hand, while it is still a stunning embarrassment to our country, is at least slightly less destructive. Rather than causing Americans to be killed, it allows otherwise law-abiding American citizen to be locked up in jail for vast portions of their lives for relatively harmless crime. Who deserves a longer jail sentence, a murderer or a pot dealer?
I hope that our era, what our grandchildren will call the turn of the century, is not remembered for these restrictive and destructive policies. We need new leaders and new direction or our freedoms will keep disappearing and the America our grandchildren know will look nothing like pre-Bush America.

Drugs in my opinion, just because we have barely stopped it. Though the dow getting over 14,000 means nothing. Its just a group of 35 (i think) special stocks that reach that total. The important groups of stocks are usually buried.
The fact of the matter is that Bush is a lame duck president who is only out there to create more money for his family and his friends.

Both wars are complete failures, and they share a very obvious element. They are wars against a concept, not against another military. For that reason they were both doomed to failure.
I wonder if we'll ever learn the lesson?
