Anytime they're looking for actors!

If you're on the East or West coasts, subscribe to Backstage (or Backstage West) and it'll tell you all the roles that are being cast. It'll also tell you when the deadline is to submit.

Of course you can send a headshot, resume, and cover letter to casting directors at any time, you can even do repeat mailings every month so they start to know your face, but that does end up being a lOT of postage.

If you're in LA, "Pilot Season" (Jan-April) would be your prime time to do mailings as the studios are all casting for their new TV shows.

Good luck!

Your best source of information will be actors in the city where you live and perform.
