Will Nick Punto's offensive improve?

Question

I'm a huge Twins fan and I love Nick Punto, but I'm worried about his offense. He's still a big contributer on the field but he's barely hitting over .200 (2.17?).

Do you think he will make the turn in the second half or do you think he will continue to struggle offensively? He seems to be picking it up though and I'm expecting him to bust through and be big in the second half. Your thoughts?

Punto hit .239 his rookie year and came back at .290 last year and now back down to .212 this year. He really looked good to me last year and I am surprised he is having the trouble he is having this year. He can definitely swing the bat but I believe , in his case, he will never be one of the more consistent hitters in the league, In his case I think we are looking at a hitter closer to .260 than .290 or above. With that being said, I would expect him to pick it up this season and help the Twins down the stretch.

Sid Hartman and Hunter think so. I don't. He never has been a good hitter. He isn't fast enough to slap the ball like Castillo. I think Gardy gives him another week or two, and if not, Cirillo is the new every day 3rd baseman. He can hit a lot better which is what we need. Punto has a lot of energy, great hustle and makes great plays. If we keep winning despite how he is producing I think he will still start. Otherwise it's only a matter of time before he is riding the bench.

he should take lessons from castillo on how to slap the ball around the feild then he will improve he is good with the glove and is a spark. he should just slap and run and castillo is the best in the game behind ichiro of slaping the ball to all feilds.
