The more I watch the Mets, the less it seems like Willie has any idea what he's doing. Ruben Gotay has been the Mets hottest hitter over the last two weeks and is riding a 9 game hitting streak. So what does Willie do? He puts him on the bench, meanwhile, the Mets have no other hot hitters on this team. No one is hustling anymore. No one is running out ground balls, no one is patient at the plate and working the pitch count. I think Willie has lost control of a very promising ball club and its time for a change. Bring in Joe Girardi.

You are speaking out of frustration, Willie Randolph knows how to manage a team. The Mets have a good team and should make the play-offs this year. The team has some injuries they are fighting through right now and I expect them to turn it around. No manager should have to fear for his job when the team is not playing well over a short period of time. If the Mets win it all this year, which they could do, then come back with this same question and see what kind of a response you get.

I am not convinced that Willie is the reason that the Mets are a sloppy team this year. Thier huge failing that will bring them ruin this tear is the single fact that they can't get the hits with runners in scoring position. They out hit, out run and out pitch thier opponents, but the hitters can't hit at the right times. home runs are pretty rare here too. I don't know who to put the blame on. I don't want it on willie though.

though i do agree that ruben gotay should still be playling, i highly disagree about firing Willie. There is a lack of one hot hitter but people like David Wright and Jose Reyes have been consistently good, and carlos delgado is steadily improving. To me the one problem is Carlos Beltran not hitting, not Willie Randolph.

nah. Willie Randolph is a good coach. his good hitters just actually need to be hitting. Delgado and Beltran need to take more batting practice. Delgado has trouble with a fastball high and In he needs to work on that. and Beltran is just having trouble with balls out of the strike zone and he even swings at some when they hit the dirt. If they can pull outta there slump they should be good. although it has been a while.

They can't fire Randolph although I do get very annoyed when I a first season going on second of Little League, girl that loves the Mets, even knows what to do.
Valentine Should never play. I luv Gotay! I also luv Milledge he is doing much better than when they first called him up! Wright and Reyes, what can you say they're awesome! Beltran in long slump.

i think of willie would be ultimately be fired, whilst he's fired he will possibly get replaced via the assistant coach. i'm going to take a wager and say in a pair of months time. with the intention to start prevailing the mets could be extra disciplined and get people who're no longer whiners like Pedro Martinez.

Stop acting like such a Yankee fan J-Far. While I've questioned a lot of Willie's moves lately as well, ie benching Gotay in favor of Valentin, using Julio Franco is clutch pinch hitting situations etc, Willie is doing a lot of things right. I love how he is so aggressive with base runners. That's so effective.

I like that they got a new hitting coach, just not so thrilled that it's Ricky Henderson...
