Causing friction between 2 fabrics that are both dry will generally cause a static charge. A hard plastic with some cloths will also achieve the same effect. (playground slides)

Rub them on your head, on your dog, scoot across the vinyl floor in the kitchen, drag your feet across the carpet... like the previous answer, less humidity equals higher static build up. Humidity tends to dissipate static charges.

Normally this happens when you drag your feet across a carpet (especially nylon) and the humidity in the home is low.

Buy cotton instead of polyester socks, that should help. So does liquid fabric softner.

FUZZY!!!!! if you happen to move to love walmart or goal, they've those fuzzy coloured socks and that i put on them like ALL the time. When i put on them i surprise like EVERYONE! its powerful
