There is no 'best'. There are just those that dissolve properly and those that don't. In addition, there are those that your doctor prefers you to take due to some existing condition. The prescription ones are more regulated because they are often outside the standard.
If you want OTC, I prefer Target brand. It's economical. Even doctors recommend it. The pharmacist told me that the only difference between the basic OTC and prescription is that the prescription ones taste better. Any OTC that you buy should dissolve in vinegar or it doesn't dissolve in your stomach.

PRimaCare
why
because there is a stool softener... has 2 pills one for the morning and night contains all the vitamins you will need to have a healthy baby and has OMEGA 3 fatty acids which doctors highly recommend.

My OB let me take 2 flintstones because I couldn't keep the others down. The main thing is to look for the amount of folic acid in them. The ones over the counter have less folic acid in them than the prescription ones. Folic acid helps prevent birth defects. Also, if you tend to get constipated look for one that has a stool softner in it (not a laxative, but a softner) such as docusate sodium.

I used the brand they offered at the grocery store and GNC brand (which was more expensive). I don't think there is too much difference b/w the brands. The 2 kinds I used had the almost the same stuff in them.
My kid turned out fine (9 pounds and healthy).

Tandem OB. They didn't make me feel sick to my stomache. Also, if your prenatals are making you feel sick, try taking them before you go to bed at night. That way you are sleeping when they are digesting.
