If you are going to go in the pool you HAVE to wear a tampon.
Water does not stop a period. It just washes away the blood and then you end up blleding in the pool. It's isn't safe for you OR anyone else. And it could be embarrasing to have a flow of red following you.

Tampons are easy to use and safe (don't leave them in longer than 6-8 hours) As soon as you get your 1st period your are physically able to use tampons. Just read the directions and relax.

Well
firstly I wouldn't worry, tampons are no big deal and they can deal with heavy flows like pads and are generally a lot less messy. You CAN go swimming with a tampon, just press it into your opening at a slight angle towards your back and keep pressing till it fully slides in, it might feel a little painful at first but once i's fully in you shouldn't feel it at all. Don't worry about it getting lost inside you as it's pretty much impossible. Once you're done after the day pull it out by the string. You should never ever leave a tampon in for more than 7 hours as you can get a rare illness called TSS Toxic Shock Syndrome. But if you change your tampon every day you should have no problems! Hope this helps.

Its ok, every woman goes through this little stage. I went through it, and i had no idea where to put the tampon, but found it pretty obvious afterwards seeing there is only one place there is for it to go. There is normally instructions in the box. Make sure you get the tampons which match your lowest absorbancy, example - if you are light or regular, dont get heavy absorbancy tampons, as this could increase the risk of TSS. Which you will also read about in the packet which comes with the tampons. I used tampax, the cented once with the plastic applicator. Sit down in front of a mirror, and practice putting it in. Or put on foot on the side of your bath and the other toilet and try to insert the applicater. You'l ge the hang of it eventually. If you canfeel the tampon, it isn't in properly. When it is in properly, you wont be able to feel it until you need to change. And make sure you hang the string out. Read intructions on the box to be sure! Good luck !

No don't wear a tampon. If this is only your second period I don't think you are ready yet to wear them. Personally I think they do more harm than good.

Also if your flow is heavy, being in water could make you even less comfortable and may bring on cramps. Wear some light trousers and a t-shirt and just relax with your friends. Nothing says you have to actually be in the pool.

Trust me, nothing is worse than having to wash chlorine out your hair and get home whilst you are bloated and cranky and crampy.

You may feel nervous about using a tampon for the first time. It is normal to feel nervous, especially if you have any unanswered questions about tampons. Ask your mom. She could help or someone older than you that you trust.

ya you shud wear one . they really arent that hard to put it at all. no big deall .tampax-pearl are really easy to put in and you dont feel them at all. they have like..an applicator thing to put it in so you dont have to do it yourself. you dont have to use a big size either. they come in small/slender ones if thats what you prefer to use for the first time. even the medium sized ones arent that big. if you feel like your flow is on the heavy side just make sure you bring some extras with you so if you want you can change it so your not worried. or so if you wannacheck you have other to replace that one.

dont worry . youll be fine ! :)

yes u have to.if u were a pad it'll get all wet and your blood will leak.but a lot of girls when they start they don't know how.and have trouble.but heres the thing.the hole is between your but hole and your thing that brings out pee.so u could maybe feel the bumps with the tampon and go to the middle.ok that sounded really inappropriate, but it's the truth.heres a website.
