that will be their lagacy and some day in their 50s they will be sitting around wondering what pop did with all the money and realize that their attitudes and personalities sucked because they were forced to play tennis so pop could make money off his kids.

Maybe. Although sexist, the popular players are attractive. i.e. Maria Sharpaova, Anna Kornakova, etc... The Williams sisters have very manly features. They are great players but I think if people were honest that they would admit that it plays a role

Honestly this is not a situation to play the race card. The statement that people generally dislike the Williams sisters is erroneous. They are both very likeable, especially Venus. In the US they are two of the most prominent figures in sports. That could not happen if they were arrogant or big-headed. They have matured greatly and are now calm and level-headed on the courts. I personally am with tennis players all day every day. I have attended both the US Open and Wimbledon multiple times. I am well versed in the subject and I can confidently say that in the US they are generally liked. In other countries they are not received as well but that is simply because they are American and the rest of the world doesn't like Americans. The Williams sisters are two great girls. I have nothing but sympathy for them after the recent loss of their sister in a tragic accident.

Do you know how many kids play sports because their parents raised to to do so. What is so different about the Williams sisters. At this point you can tell they like tennis and are very competitive. They are grown woman and could quit at any time, they have enough money. There father is their coach so what he gets paid, he should coaches don't work for free. Richard must have done a good job because they are two of the most famous women tennis players on the circuit today. Anyone who hates these two women have there own issues to deal with.

People hate the Williams sisters because of the interview years ago they did on abc? They showed this smirky grin like if you told them they had egg on their face they would leave it there to spite you!!
Anyways
The interviewer was grilling them on their attitude and then the dad got all huffy and came out and stopped the whole thing. I thought they were aggravating like they love to irritate people. Most likely they are the ones who are racist - maybe cuz of their dad teaching them to be all smirky and stuff. Man I don't even know how to convey this properly but hope you get the jist of it.

I generally hate to answer this sort of question. But I would say this, both will be in the Hall of fame in RI with in the next 5-10 years from now. Both are great competitors and athletic.
They have represented more than other women in US Fed cup.

Having attitude and personality has nothing to do with the game of tennis and representing the country. All players have some sort of attitude problems, so why not blame all?
I would say that Serena has problems when she looses and never gives credit to her opponent. It is only a sportsmanship problem....

People hate them just because their color(?) and have won many grand slams(?) and I do not understand....
Why don't you people hate Capriati, Davenport, Martina, Hingis, Henin, Chris Evert?

Get real and let the games be played irrespective of race and color......

they could very easy be the most hated tennis player 'cause now it's too late to try to change something even if they would think about that( although i,m sure they like thinks this way).
their arrogant attitude made them really earn this title.

Like all sports, the best players are the most hated. Kobe in basketball, Barry Bonds in baseball, the william sisters in tennis, lol if Roger Fereder is cocky and arrogant but people praise him. Honestly, playin in compton CA, i feel for their dad who had them dominiate the game they play. He gave birth to champions and was content that he was going to have his daughter reach that goal. I dont like the dad to much, but the women, i feel for them. Besides, its hard to play injured, or hurt in a matchm it slows you down. If no one likes the Williams, should the Williams fight to be your fan? If you didnt like me, i wouldnt like you back
