My friend lost his job and hasn't been able to pay his rent for July, he recieved a notice yesterday that he has until today to pay his rent or they will evict him. He started to work at this temp. job this week, and is starting a new job on monday, I am going to let him stay with me for a couple weeks til he can get a new place. I don't know what the laws are regarding evictions in kentucky. How long does he have til they put his stuff out of the apartment. If he is able to pay the rent by the end of the month would that stop the eviction? What time frame is he looking at?

It appears that he has seven (7) days from receipt of the mentioned notice to pay his rent arrears, together with all penalties attached thereto for late payment, in order to retain his rights to tenancy.

Writs of eviction take varying lengths of time to enforce depending on locale. It depends on the speed with which the courts respond. However, as soon as the writ is court ordered, eviction can be expected within days.
