i'm uk based so maybe you don't wanna know what i think?...but i was a kid when i saw David Icke's first national tv interview on a chat show called Wogan. he was a household name - he'd been a sports presenter for years after, i believe, a career as a goal-keeper(soccer!) and then he made some announcements to the national press and you know how it is with celebrities - everyone was interested but he was seriously mocked by all the tabloid press at the time for, as they 'reported' it - saying he was the son of god and turqoise was very important.
it was painful to watch the interview - there was some audience heckling (very NOT british!) but what he actually SAID was not so outlandish. i remember my dad really laughing at him but it was clear to my childhood-clear eyes that he was at least sincere about what he was saying and i thought he was very brave to say challenging things about the lack of spirituality in modern life - i'd thought of him as a real sports-geek till then and kinda liked him and certainly admired his ability to commit to what he thought and very publicly.
the stuff he says about the leaders of the world being part of a shape-shifting alien-lizard culture is perhaps a lil harder to swallow. my take on that was that he was certainly sensing SOMETHING wrong with the hegemony but i think he took what is perhaps symbolic as literal. i think the ruling elite are kinda reptilian and alien and evil but, at least in this consensus reality of ours, not actually from another planet - i think maybe his intuition got a lil garbled by paranoia? but just cos he's paranoid doesn't mean that they're not out to get him!
overall? if he makes you re-think anything at all...or gives you hope that there is a real and magical spiritual side to life then, hey, good job!
as to michael moore? whatever you think of him as a person you can check what he says and some of it - like the bush/bin laden financial links are illustrative of the big boys playing a very fast and loose game with people's lives. again - he makes you think a lil? GOOD job!!

I'm not sure about David Icke, but I know that Michael Moore exposes a lot of things that Americans are uncomfortable talking about. Whether they are biased ideas or not, he just exposes injustices in the country that are difficult to hear.
It's probably because most of the time racial issues are covered up and pushed under a rug, and the phrase "It's not my problem -- I'm not racist" is heard waaaay more than "There's injustice here. Let's see what we can do about it as a nation."
Just my thoughts.

Michael Moore is a genuine human as far as this Flintiod sees. Met the man and am impressed by his demeanor.
David Icke me thinks, after a few purchases of cafe latte at Borders and perusal of his literature is a fan of the green fairy and maybe jager, definitely some ever clear. These are only opinions mind you.

I don't know about Americans, but I think David Icke is quite unhinged and Michael Moore like David Icke and his shape shifting reptiles - are in it for the money ! It's all crap in my opinion.

I like Michael Moore's works a lot, but I do agree to a small degree with his critics who state that he COULD include more contradictory opinions.
However, most film makers allow their opinions and biases to rule, so there you are.
I will wait, however, to see "Sicko" on DVD. I'm boycotting cinemas because they continue to have the audacity to show commercials beforehand -- as long as they're accepting that advertising revenue, they should make the tickets free.

The definition of the word "truth" keeps becoming more vague with each passing day.
I don't know about Icke, but the only people here who consider Michael Moore a great man are left-wing partisan clowns.

The international community has more respect for Michael Moore's work than his own country. He's highly regarded as a social critic in France and in my country (Germany), but even those who like his documentaries in the US don't really appreciate him as we do in Europe. Then you have those who ridicule him in the States and who become almost fanatical in their judgement. It's quite odd.

The most common response is violent disapproval by people who have never read one of the books or seen one of the movies. One of the sad truths about America is that many people are content to have their opinions handed to them by others. Reading and thinking is just too hard.
