I can already do it in around 5 min. But truthfully the only point to really being able to know how to do is to be able to impress people with it haha. No one is willing to sit there for 5min and stare at you figure it out, it just loses the appeal. I know practice blah blah, but any specific moves or techniques or anything? any info, would be helpful... thx

I have my time to about 30 sec now. you could use a silicon based grease on it, this makes it alot easier and faster to turn. I dont know what method you use to solve it, but there are algorithms and many different techniques on the internet that with practice can get you sub-20 sec times. (record was 10.54 sec)
p.s. forgot, DO NOT use WD-40 as a lubricant, it will eat your cube alive!

You need to change your approach. Most people learn how to do the cube from a guide that shows how to do it. Unfortunately the easier to learn methods are the slowest.

If it is you figured out how to do it yourself, then you should be able to improve on the moves it takes through each part of the process.

If you can do that, you've certainly memorized certain algorithms for accomplishing basic tasks (like move one corner piece over to another specific corner piece).

You might want to see if there are faster ways (fewer rotations) to accomplish some of these. For example, if it takes you 24 rotations to move one edge piece from one side to another without flipping it over, you might find a way to do that in only 15 rotations.

Other than that, it's all practice, practice, practice.
