In a speech to business leaders in India, Rep. Jim McDermott, D-Wash., gave credence to a rumor that the U.S. has captured Osama bin Laden and for political reasons is waiting for the right moment to reveal it, according to the Indo-Asian News Service.

I think the Dems where correct Do you remember this;

Reps. Mike Thompson and Jim McDermott in CNN interview from Baghdad in 2002.

"There are already rumors circulating that Osama bin Laden is being held somewhere already and it's only that they are trying to decide what day they should bring him out," McDermott told Confederation of Indian Industry representatives at a luncheon in New Delhi on Thursday.

The reason is it would NOT politically benefit his party right now or in the past

He knew he would win in 2004 because of hius grandstanding over 911 and at first the war in Iraq was popular if you remember

Now, I think since all their cards are played the Republicans may just find him

I'll answer your question when you can tell me whatever happened to Pancho Villa...

Osama is not exactly running things from wherever he is, you know. The best he can do is shoot off a little pep-talk via Al Jazeera every 6 months. It's not an effective way of running a murderous terrorist network.

The more important thing is that while we have him moving from cave to cave, we're also fighting terrorism in other places...because you have to be a complete moron to think that Al Quaida is our biggest and only enemy.

Bush and Cheney knew where Bin Ladin was two years ago...he and other Al Queda operatives were meeting in a house nine miles inside Pakistan...when asked why they did not attack the house and take out Bin Ladin, Karl Rove said, quote: "We were concerned about invading a sovereign country without their consent."........so to get this straight, we can attack Iraq without their consent, but we cannot attack a country to take out a person who was complicit in killing 3500 Americans on 9-11

Some maintain he's dead, one such evidence would be the downward trend of him being the forefront of the terrorists videos, the #2 of Al Queida has taken over.

Other's maintain he's holed up in the mountains in Pakistan, an un-governed region full of tribes that war with each other as well as the army of Pakistan but are said to have ties with the terrorists. It's heavily mountainous and has caves upon caves to hid in.

He is either dead or very protected. One can only do so much when you don't have the intelligence were you need it. The Russians had the same problem finding leaders in those mountains.
