In the cisco world I know I use show run, but I cant seem to get to command line in 3com? How do I access command line and copy the configurations

The 3 com gateway routers do not use the command line structure (like Cisco and Adtran do).

They have a web GUI structure and you can download the config and save it for upload later BUT you cannot read it as it is not a text file.

I haven't played with 3Com in a long long time, but if I remember correctly it is a menu-driven system even through the serial port. I'd look for a option to TFTP the config to your laptop.

Because the file ( prg in this case) is active? It can`t be transferred< while in use~
