My son is going to be 1 year in a couple of weeks and he has recently discovered our bathroom garbage cans. I usually keep the door shut, but every once in awhile I forget and he goes right for the garbage cans. I tried using the one that you have to push with your foot to open, but he figured that out in a couple of minutes. Does anyone have a suggestion for a garbage can that is "baby-proof"?

I would just try to keep the bathroom door closed (I know it's hard!) or put it under the sink and use the child-proof things so he can't open the cabinet doors. Good luck! Baby boys are very busy!!

Your garbage should be placed inside the vanity if you have one. Out of sight, out of mind. Childproof the door with one of those devices that kids can't get into. I've never heard of a child proof garbage can.

Or why don't you put a little bolt lock higher up out of his reach on the door so he can't get into the bathroom?

I would put the can in the vanity or under the sink, if possible. Then buy some of those cabinet locks if you don't have them already.

Keep it under the sink and get cabinet locks.
It might be a pain, but he will only keep getting in to it, if you don't do something about it.

I'd say you could keep the trashcan in a baby-locked cabinet. that should work.
But, I hope, when/if he does touch it, you're lightly popping his hand and saying "No, no (name)!" firmly, but not meanly. B/c he needs to listen to you. You can't move everything, like the hot stove, or cars on the street.
