I've noticed over the last few weeks whilst wandering round Manchester in our lovely stormy British weather, the women have small brolly's and the men have those huge like fisher men brollies! why is this? surely they're not a bothered as us about how their hair looks? Also a lot of them wearing suits and looking rather business like! Has the world gone mad??!!

It seems pretty obvious really that something the shape of an umbrella should serve as a Freudian symbol for male sexuality. So perhaps the men who wave big umbrellas around are trying to compensate for a deficiency somewhere else. You have been warned - go for the men with small brollies !

Perhaps you should research this theory and tell us what you discover !

1) Women buy umbrells that they can carry in their purse. Men don't carry purses, so why not carry an umbrella that stands up, so it's easy to see, and not as likely to be forgotten.

2) Men are wider than women. Our shoulders are more broad.

3) Most men's suits are made of wool, and don't take kindly to getting wet. Having a large umbrella doesn't protect our hair any better, but it does help keep our legs/pants dryer, further down.

4) If a man is walking with a woman, his umbrella is big enough for both if they hold each other tight. Fun!

The real question should be "Are women getting less and less intelligent? I keep seeing them carrying around umbrellas that only protect their hair and the tops of their shoulders. Also, the ones they are buying are usually so thin and frail, they keep bending, breaking, and getting turned upside-down in the wind. These women are dressed in clothing that one would think they would want to help protect. Has the word gone mad??!!"

On the rare times I use a brolly I use a golf one because it teds to keep me dry. I can not understand a woman with a brolly wit a spike on charging ahead at full speed with the spike level with my eye. Nor can I understand when I try to protect my self from blindness they regard me as being wrong. All well that's life

I had to laugh when I read your question as I was saying the same thing to some parents who were waiting at the school gates for their children.

All the men seemed to have had those massive umbrellas and when they wanted to come past us they expected us to move to accommodate their umbrella space.

I think it's more a case of look how big mine is syndrome . My bloke would rather get wet then use a ordinary umbrella but he is quite happy waving one of the big ones about. I think they are blooming lethal as well.

Yes. Because "skinny" is in. Think about it, look at all those fraile looking emo's, goths and "scene boys" running around. Along with men wearing tight as hell skinny jeans. A woman has to be a lesbian to be into most guys these days. It's proof of how the media could EASILY brainwash entire segments of the population with ridiculous trends. People don't want to admit how powerful the media actually is on people.

Since umbrellas were made for men, they have been bigger, because traditionally when a man and woman are walking together, he holds the Umbrella for the two of them.
A womans unbrella is usually for herself, so they can also sell childrens umbrellas.

I like using a umbrella sometimes, but I love getting wet in summer rain.

I'd say the men with the bigger umbrellas are obviously more intelligent than the women with the tiny little ones that fail as soon as a good gust of wind comes their way.

Well, if you wear a suit you probably do not want it getting wet. What's the best way to ensure a minimum of water damage on your clothing? Larger umbrella.

The correct term for men acting that way is egotistical. Vain refers to women who act the same.

It seem s to me that men aren't as manly as they used to be.
They are seeming more feminine and that is weird and scary.
I like a man that looks and acts like a real man!!! Looks tough, yet gentle. The slicked up look so arrogant, I wouldn't mess with them. They are as worried about their hair as we are and their clothes. They want to look sophisticated and rich even if they aren't. Why can't they be themselves.
