Re-phrase, more details please.

But .

Medically or I should say clinically speaking a person is considered dead or without life, when there is no brain wave for 5 minutes but most doctors will take few readings and at least last one for few more minutes, depending on the availability of the equipment.

Cadaver dogs are use by some cultures.
Mirrors were deployed by many.
Stattustscope was main instrument till recently, and in the field, even now.

If you mean end of life on this earth or what some believe as "the end"! Then the answer is it can happen any time.

1. We can have continueous earthquacks acompanied by huge ocean waves and volcanic erruptions, for days after days. (this will leave some of us alive on the earth and some in the askies, traveling by air, and if a safe landing can be made then ...).

2. Another bigg collision with astroid or even bigg commet. This can cause total distruction.

The above are the two posoibilities but the sure one is the next one.

3. Earth will collied with the sun for sure, may take few billion or million years. But it is a sure event in the future, I do not know whether we will have technology to escape to another planet or not, but every second as I write this, we are getting closer and closer to the sun. there will be a point of no return, and point of no escape.

Doctors all over the world have yet to really pin-point and say when the life ended. They just call it 'clinical death' when physiologically the body condition deteriorates beyond repair.
Philosophically, when ever we are stuck in mind deep, we are like 'dead' (remember, the school teacher asks "where are you" to an inattentive student !).
Small cells die in our body each day, we continue because new ones are also born to sustain.
Only some religions, and spiritual masters give a clue (Rooh in urdu, Atma in Sanskrit, spirit, etc ... ), which actually decides when the life 'ends' in a particular 'body' !

My life? When I die. All life forms on earth? When the sun ceases nuclear fusion in about 5,000,000,000 years. All life forms in all systems in all galaxies in the entire universe? When the universe itself no longer exists, although that is up for debate since there are scientists who believe the universe will expand indefinately, with the Virgo Cluster of Galaxies (including our Milky Way) bowling along at 600km/second all the while.

Quality of life has already ceased due to the unbelieveable demand on materialism (capitalism). Life will end when this materialism ultimately consumes or destroys all remaining basics of sustaining life - air, earth, and water.

Now, why do YOU think there's a space program?

At some time in the future, the earth will not be able to support life at all. Nobody knows for certain when that occurs. As for YOUR life, however, the Bible promises that it can be eternal. Read the four Gospels in the New Testament.

i had read somewhere that life ends when a person's brain stops functioning. this condition is called brain death. though a person's heart beats can be kept running by artificial life support system but there is no use in keeping such a person alive

Due to the expanding universe, any and all life will eventually end when no planet supporting life remains close enough to a star that will provide enough light and heat to sustain the life.
