i'm assuming you're using a new nokia so here it is. go to the individual contact and pick the option edit. this will open up the contact card and allow you to edit the picture/ringtone for that particular model.
do the same to each contact and voila, you got it.
for the older phones though (no colour no camera) the ringtones ahve to be set for groups, not individual contact. pick the contact options, select options and edit groups.

goto contacts, and edit their info, there shud be an option to do that, if u have an old one, sorry :(
