What does it matter how many people have answered already. If you give the same answer as someone else, then it just means that you agree with someone already. If you give a new answer, it means the person asking has more choice. Either way it's a good thing.

Also, honestly, if there's just too many answers already why bother reading them, just get yours down and job's done.

I check to see if I can answer the question with a quick answer or do I have to go in to to much detail (it depends if I have time to answer).
I also check the answers to see if someone gave a decent answer and then I will give my opinion.

I do, too because if there is an answer that I totally agree with, I just rate it thumbs up and go on. I think a lot of people just answer for points, whether it's a good answer or just silliness.

I like to be the first answer- but rarely am. But I check other people's answers so that I don't repeat an answer and look like a copy-cat.

I will think about the answer then scan and see if anyone has already said what I was going to say and if they have then I won't answer because I hate being redundant!

No I do not see that but i think and write and later see what and how others have answered and each one is different and no answer would be the same one and i think of their thinkiing line and the way other do write.

I only answer if I think I have something to contribute, I do see if the answers already cover what I have to say, because why say it again...

Sometimes. If there are a bunch of answers already and mine is just average, I don't post.

yea, the more, the less chance of best answer, but it isn't that important. I also don't like to say the same thing as a different answerer.

Sometimes because if there is one specific answer, i won't waste my time when the avatar above me has already answered it. LOL. Sometimes i accidentally forget to do that.
