Its a program that runs with an online game. It wont open correctly, wont show me the file orshortcut I need to run the program

There's a lot of programmes that won't run in Vista. You could try the below to try and trick it though!
Open Computer (formerly My Computer), right-click your CD-ROM drive, and select Explore. If you can do this, find the executable SETUP.exe, LAUNCH.exe, or whatever name they use for the installer, right-click it, select Properties, choose the Compatibility tab, and enable compatibility for Windows XP. OK your way out, then double-click the executable to launch the installer. That will 'trick' the program's installer into thinking you're running Windows XP, not Vista. It doesn't always work, but it's certainly worth a shot.
