Now i don't want a biased opinion as we Cub fans usually give, but do you really think this is our year??
I do.
We've got all the right parts: pitching, although sometimes it can get shaky; hitting, Wow!!!! we have a great offensive team with Soriano, D-Lee, Rameriez, DeRosa, and not to mention pitchers!!!; defense: we have a pretty good defense with Theriot and Fontenoit and D-Lee and Rameriez in the infield and Soriano with the most outfield assists!!!

Four reasons why it might be the Cubs' year:
1. Lou Piniella. He has given them an urgency. He has been a winner, a Ghost of October. He knows how it feels and he wants them to know it, too.
2. Kerry Wood and Mark Prior. Or, rather, their absence. The Cubs are no longer counting on them. If they somehow come back this season (both unlikely), and have anything to give, it's a bonus. But they really may not need either one. The Cubs have thrown away that security blanket, and are more secure for it.
3. They are not currently in first place. That sounds contradictory, but it isn't. This time, as opposed to 1969, 1984 and 2003, the Cubs aren't the favorites. They are the pursuers rather than the pursuees. In other words, the pressure's on the Brewers, not the Cubs. If the Cubs don't win, it'll be, well, we weren't expected to win, we gave it a good shot, and now we know we can win, and we'll be better for it next year, and we'll be ready. The Cubs not winning this year wouldn't be a terrible thing like the aforementioned years. Which would make it all the better if they do pull it off.
4. There's no dominant team in the National League this year. There is no team that should strike fear in the Cubs' hearts should they make the Playoffs. They don't fear the Brewers, even if the Brewers win the Division and the Cubs are Wild Card. The East contenders (Mets, Braves and Phils) are hardly intimidating, and neither are the West contenders (Padres and Dodgers). The Cubs don't have to be really good to win the Pennant. They just need to be good and hot at the right time, and have a little bit of luck (the one thing they never seem to have). A Cub Pennant is not a laughable possibility this year.

next year is here. this is our year baby we got 4 guys batting over .300 our era is 4th best in the nl and 6th best in the whole league. fontenot has been a great addition, and theriot has been amazing for us, and mark derosa is also having a good year.We know we have the offense and have good defense. our pitching is good with zambrano and lilly as the top 2 starters. and marquis is a veteran he will be great in the postseason. and hill and marshall are two good young pitchers. the cubs bullpen has been great especially with carlos marmols .88 era. We got all the stuff for a championship teamespecially we got the best fans in the world.

I even have asked myself that question before. the nice and cozy button is coach me one genuine baseball fan who has not had their coronary heart broken with the help of the interest. Your gonna look long and stressful and are available up empty reason there is not any such element. i'm a Sox fan too, and have been my complete existence. Baseball followers are the main pathetic creatures to ever walk the earth. have you ever stated on your chum, all we would desire to constantly do is win the subsequent ten and have them lose 8 and have been in. I even have stated it before, easily I even have greater comprehend for cubs followers then people who like the two communities, or the followers who like which ever group is prevailing that twelve months. %. a set and cheer in the stable cases and curse the undesirable. I am not a Cubs fan but I can tell you I think the Cubs will win their division and go to the playoffs. However, for them to go deep into the playoffs they are going to have to come up with another good starting pitcher. Cubs fans have a lot to be happy about this year because they are a good team.

Yep your right this is our year because we got the offence and defence we homer when we need to homer. The brewers are good but the cubs have been on fire the cubs will probably take the division and will make it all the way

idk if its our year, but we certainly have the capability, i like the addition of kendall, our catching staff is young and he provides some much needed experience, and potentially add to the offense more than the catching spot is already, fonty and riot, are great young sparks to te loaded lineup as you have said. The pitching, id like to see us add a starter who has been in those big game situations but we arent in bad shape. we definatly have fans on our side, i was at the game last night and it was like the world series!
we shall see!

its our year...the defense you were talking about is the best in the NL this year....the offense hasnt hit the homeruns they should be hitting but they will break out of that slup....and if not this year...then next year with cuban we definately will
