Shell would be short for either Shellann, or Shellana (pronounced Shell~on~a) And I would change the e in Skyler to an a to make it Skylar, and call her Sky for short.

Shellana for a girl, and Jake for a boy.
Shellana is beautiful.
The others are kind of well-used.

The girl names. Skyler is becoming more of a popular name, so if you wanted something original, I wouldn't go with that one. Shell is okay as a nick name, but I think a name needs a stronger real name, and maybe call her by shell. Janelle is a pretty name. Not very common, so again if you are wanting something different, then I like it =)
As for the boy names, I love the name Ryan. I just think its a stong name for a man, but also a good name for a boy.

Shell? Did I read that right? As in Shell gasoline? Not a fan of that. Skyler is cute but sounds too young for an adult. Janelle sounds too adult.
I like Ryan and Tyler (actually I like Tyler for a boy or a girl) but Jake not so much. What about Taylor?

Ryan is a reali nice ame for a little boy. Tyler is ok though its becoming a bit too popular now. Ur girls names im not very sure of, they just seem a little too out there for me and i personally would have hated my parents to call me any of those names but ull never find everyone who loves the name so go with what u like best. I quite like the name Sky just not with the ler, ive never heard of it before. Anyway all the best with ur birth and ur beautiful new baby!!

Janelle is beautiful! I would go with that one personally.
Skyler is a boys name.
Shell- I like this for a middle name
Ryan- not my favorite at all
Tyler- I would go with this one!

I dont like any of the girls' names, Skylar is the one I'd pick if I had to choose. Instead of Shell (like an ocean object, seriously?) why not Michelle, maybe thats what you were going for. Janelle seems to have a bad ring to it, kind of ghetto I guess, dont know how to describe it. I dig all of the boys' names
