hmm...that's a lot of words...writing a story? an essay?

evocative - to elicit; as in to summon an answer or an emotion
hassock - its a cushion you can use as footrest
effeminate - its when a guy acts a little bit girly but isnt really gay
ostensibly - appearing to be or pretending to be
substantiate - to support with proof
flaxen - having the pale yellowish color as in flaxen hair
edifice - its a building
impish - to be naughty or mischievous
stevedore - a person whose work involves loading and unloading a cargo ship
