If you go with popular belief then no, they're natural formations due to the low atmophere and solar winds..
But..
I have read a book written by Stephen Hawkins saying that Mars suffered a cataclismic collision with a planet (which shattered to create the asteriod belt!) taking a large chunk of the planets crust away with it, and anything else (possibly distroying native life (if you belive it))

.. anyways my answer is possibly Marsans; because mars would have been liveable for a sturdier creature before such tragedy happened and well. why wouldn't they build pyramids? we did.

the pyramids on Mars are natural formations that have been weather by massive sand storms over very long periods of time if they where constructed they would have been demolished by the planets weather the face on Mars is also a trick of the light the probe that took the photo was built in the 1970's and look at the technology that was available then

Absolutely 100% natural, and they are not really pyramids, just weathered hills that look slightly pyramidal!

See Phil Plait's Bad Astronomy blog for details of 'structures' on Mars and the moon!

not a question that can be answered so easily, who is to say that they aren't from a collapsed martian civilisation?? unlikely but by no means impossible.

erosion could have caused it, as well as causing the smiley face and other such strange occurrences. but personally i would love to think there is a cosmic joker laughing at us.

My friend thinks there's something fishy going on here, because there are pyramids in Egypt and as well in somewhere else separated from Egypt by sea (I am SHOCKING at geography) and these were built before any form of water travel was invented...
So who put them there, and why are they on Mars?
He thinks aliens.
Hmmm.
