Crabs are high maintenance in the beginning, as you set up your tank and get it decorated and work to get a stable temp and humidity (similar to fish set up). After that they are relatively low maintenance and I would say that you will put in an average of 10-15 minutes a day plus a full deep clean every 4-6 weeks. Now. . . . how many hours you stare mindlessly at the tank or how many times a day you long onto crab forums. . . . I cannot be held responsible for that.

No they are pretty easy and make great pets.First buy one that appears healthy no missing limbs and active. Then buy some hermit crab for him or her and make sure to buy a shell that will fit him once the other shell gets to small.medium sized ones are best because small ones are more aggresive and large ones hurt more when they pinch.Use sand to completely cover the bottom of a ten gallon aquarium.Put a stick or something to climp on like the things at petco.Mist him daily have a large dish of water for him and depending on the species possibly salt water.Have a small food dish for him and occasionally feed him treats such as coconut lettuce and mango.bathe him once a week by putting in warm water he should crawl out and run around.Have a light or something to provide a liitle bit of heat.A sign that he may be sick is if he leaves his shell and does not return. Also if he does this put a larger shell in there to see if he goes.Best of luck with your crab.

It is a myth that crabs are an "easy" pet. they require very specific conditions and are actually quite expensive when you are first starting out. I suggest you do alot of research before you take on this delicate pet. Here is a great place to start.

nope i have 3 all you need is high calicum sand, which is relally expensve at pet stores a few rocks extra shells and a wet sponge and food and your all set. i have 2 big ones and one small one and they dont smell or anything if a crab dies THEN you would smell it but make sure you have a lid if it is a small tank because they naturally climb. have fun so they are low maintence but you should wash them every once in a while and check for mites on them. also every other month clean the cage out

Easy.
Just buy the right food, keep a wet sponge in cage for water.
Have a couple larger shells. As they grow, they leave their outgrown shell and reside in a larger one.
