im thinking about going to cosmetology school but im pregnant and i dont know if thats safe ive heard its okay but im not sure i dont want to do anything that would harm my baby? has anybody done this or maybe worked in a salon while pregnant?

i wouldnt, there are too many inhalants in the air that can affect your unborn child....
acetone
finger nail polish
hair chemicals
etc...
very dangerous

i have been to beauty school and there were plenty of pregnant women there. think about women that have jobs as stylists. do you think they quit working for over a year? no. the stuff you are working with is not going to harm the baby. you CAN get your hair permed and colored while pregnant. sometimes your hormones just affect the outcome! i would say if you want to go, go.

It might be best to wait until after you give birth before going. Or if you plan on breast feeding, waiting until you finish breast feeding. There are a fair amount of chemicals you will be exposed to that may or may not cause problems for your baby. It's probably ok, but to be on the safe side, I'd avoid it.
